JP Arpino

JP Arpino grew up in central New York outside of Syracuse. His love of music started at an early age, begging his parents for a guitar at the age of 8 and dressing up as a rock star at even younger ages. JP adopted the bass at the age of 13 when his exploration with music and the instrument really began.

JP plays and listens to any and all musical genres, from jam bands and jazz to electronica and funk. Accordingly, he has played in various bands, ranging from ska, rock, jazz fusion, and funk. His influences include Pat Metheny, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Victor Wooten, and the list just keeps going. If the music sounds good, he keeps listening and playing.

JP earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University, where he currently manages an engineering research and development group.

His main axes are an MTD KZ5 and a Carvin B5 fretless.
